Pupils and staff at Gungrog Infants have been having fun talking rubbish with Bin Doctors Ali Thomas and Bex Syrett.
As part of their Healthy Schools week children have been learning in a fun way, how to recycle more, thinking carefully about what goes in the bin. Stories, dance and games all helped the pupils to think differently about what is rubbish and what can be used again.
John, aged 7 said, “recycling is being nice to creatures, people and our world” which sums it up nicely!
Parents also had an opportunity to get involved, talking to Bex about how to save money and cut down on food waste. Parents engaged with a visual feast of information helping them to make sense of Use by Dates, food storage and the importance of planning. Recipes cards were also popular – suggesting we all need some inspiration to help us use up those leftovers in the fridge.
